Our first crowdfunder has ended, but we’re not done yet!

Our first Crowdfunder came to a close on midday, 1st November.

We are happy to say that our lovely neighbours have raised £1,822.75, which is enough money for 6 new street trees to be planted on Umfreville Rd.

Well done folks!

The trees please crowdfunder total on Trees for Street website.

We will soon be in conversation with Trees for Streets and the Haringey Tree Officers, to finalise the tree planting scheme for this winter. How exciting.

Dan Snell, Haringey’s Urban Forest Project Officer has already allocated 10 locations for tree pits on Umfreville Road, so the first six pits to be planted up will be chosen soon and we will discover where they will go.  When these first 6 trees are planted, they will not only make the road more attractive but will fit in nicely with the Council’s ongoing SuDs initiative, to reduce flooding on Green Lanes.

Winter 2024 Tree Planting

Watch out for tree planting to be taking place over the winter. Trees need to be planted while the soil is still warm and before the sap starts to rise in the spring, so they should be in by March 2025.

Then we will need people to help water and care for the trees and their tree pits.

Future Plans

We hope to have a fun Tree Dressing event during National Tree Week in the last week of November.  How would you and your children like to decorate your favourite street tree? More about this later….

Crowdfunder 2025

Next year, after the first set of trees have been planted, we will begin to start raising money for the remaining four street trees and will set up a second Crowdfunder.
